Westminster and Broomfield are a short drive from Arvada, and each card below is a job we finished in one of them, marked with its own town.

The work

What went into the Arvada house

A new home touches every trade, from concrete to paint. Here is what this one included, floor by floor.

The outside

A curved concrete walk leads to the covered front porch, built in wood with timber posts. The outside walls mix stacked stone with blue lap and shake siding, next to a two-car garage.

Custom home building

The main floor and kitchen

Living room, dining area and kitchen share one run of wide-plank hardwood, with big windows for daylight. The kitchen pairs white shaker cabinets with a large island and gray counters, with a beverage fridge tucked into its own nook.

Kitchen remodeling

Upstairs

A large bedroom suite opens onto a balcony. One bath pairs a freestanding tub with a walk-in shower behind glass, tiled in a marble look. Around the house, wood barn doors warm up the white finishes.

Bathroom remodeling

On a new build, the foundation goes to a concrete crew and the roof to a roofing crew we work with regularly. The framing, plumbing, wiring and finish carpentry are done by Alex and Sergei, and our own painting crew does the paint.

Existing homes

Remodeling an Arvada home

Not every project starts with an empty lot. If you already own a house in Arvada, we can remodel the kitchen or baths, finish the basement, open up the main floor or build an addition. Typical numbers:

Kitchen remodel

10-12 weeks, about $120,000

An average for the whole job, counting materials and labor. Layout changes, structural work and the materials you pick all shift it.

Kitchen remodeling

Hall bathroom

About 2 weeks, around $13,000

Moving the tub, toilet or vanity usually costs more than leaving them in place, so layout is the first thing we talk through.

Bathroom remodeling

Primary bathroom

Around $29,000-38,000

All-in with materials. Tile, glass, vanity size and any layout change all affect where yours lands.

Bathroom remodeling

These are rough guides, not quotes. Every job is different, and we can't guarantee any of these numbers. Plan with the free written line-item estimate you get after we see the house. What to plan for in Arvada

Building a new house

Permits for homes in the city go through City of Arvada Building Services. For a new house, its new single-family permit page asks for a document set that includes a soils report and stamped structural and foundation plans. The City lists 20 business days for the first review of a custom home permit and 10 for each later round, so leave room for that in your timeline. Its online application for new homes is open only to licensed contractors, so we file it for you once the plans are ready.

Remodeling an existing home

The City's building permits page names interior remodels as one kind of project that requires a permit, and notes that most permit types come with inspections. What yours needs depends on the scope, and we sort that out before work starts.

Living through the work

Decide early where you will cook or shower while a kitchen or bath is torn out, and pick cabinets, tile and fixtures in time for them to arrive. Our remodel planning guide covers selections, budgets and comparing estimates.

Client reviews

Clients on inspections and paperwork

Average rating 5.0 · 12 client reviews

Reviews on our site don't say which town the client lives in. These reviews describe how we handled inspections, a big part of any new home.

Rated 5 out of 5

We bought a 90s house that needed everything on the main floor updated. RSRT handled wall removals, new LVL beams, kitchen re-layout, flooring, and trim. We always knew what was happening the next week and any changes were written down with clear pricing. Inspections passed the first time and the crew was respectful of our neighbors. The house feels brand new without weird shortcuts hiding behind paint.

RSRT finished our unfinished basement and turned it into the most used part of our house. Framing, bathroom, bar, and an office were all done exactly how we talked about during the walkthrough. Alex kept us updated around inspections so nothing was a surprise. Clean crew, no drama, and the end result looks like it was always part of the house

From the first walkthrough it was obvious Alex knew basements. He flagged egress, head height, and mechanical issues before we signed anything. The finished space has a bedroom, a media room, and a small workout area. The inspections and paperwork were all handled, and they coordinated with our low-voltage guy without stepping on toes. The basement doesn’t feel like an afterthought - it feels like part of the original house.

Arvada building & remodeling questions

Do you build new custom homes in Arvada?

Yes. We designed and built the Arvada custom home on this page, outside and in. Get in touch with your lot and whatever plans you have so far, even if they aren't finished. Our custom home building page explains each stage of a new build.

What does the City of Arvada need before a new home permit is issued?

The City's new single-family permit page says Planning, Engineering, stormwater and the Building Division must all approve before the permit is issued. A lot over 10,000 square feet also needs a site development permit. We handle the application as your licensed contractor.

Does an Arvada kitchen or bathroom remodel need a permit?

Often, yes. Interior remodels appear on the City of Arvada's list of projects that require a permit, and the City says most permit types include inspections. It depends on what changes in your room. We pull whatever permits the job calls for and schedule the inspections.

How much does a kitchen or bathroom remodel cost in Arvada?

No two houses are the same, so take these as ballpark figures we can't guarantee. A kitchen usually means 10-12 weeks of work and averages about $120,000 all-in, counting materials and labor. A hall bath is closer to $13,000 over about 2 weeks, and a primary bath around $29,000-38,000 including materials. Plan around your free written estimate.

Are you licensed and insured for work in Arvada?

Yes. RSRT is licensed in Arvada and also holds a commercial contractor license. Our liability coverage is $2 million per occurrence, and our work has a 2-year workmanship warranty. License numbers aren't posted on the site, but ask and we'll share them.
