Remodeling contractor in Longmont, CO
Our Longmont project is a primary suite remodel centered on a steam shower behind floor-to-ceiling frameless glass, beside a freestanding soaking tub and a floating double vanity. The owners, Alex and Sergei, bring roughly 20 years in building and remodeling. They come to the walkthrough, price the job and work on it themselves.

What we built in this Longmont suite
The homeowners started with a standard primary bathroom. Here is what changed, area by area.
The steam shower
Frameless glass runs floor to ceiling around the Longmont steam shower, with matte black hardware. There are two shower stations, and each has a rain head and a handheld sprayer. The floor is pebble tile with a linear drain, a tall recessed niche holds shelves, and a high window lets in daylight.
Bathrooms & steam showersSoaking tub and double vanity
The freestanding soaking tub sits below a wide window, with a matte black filler mounted in the floor. The floating double vanity adds storage and counter room, finished with black faucets, framed mirrors that match and clear glass lights. Warm wood-look tile ties the room together.

Outside the bathroom, the walk-in closet got white shelving, drawers and hanging rods. A white barn door on a slider now closes the bath off from the bedroom, and a new wood slat feature wall holds a TV and a linear fireplace.
Whole-home remodelingWhat to plan for in a Longmont bathroom
Most big choices come before anyone picks tile.
If you want steam
A steam shower is built differently from a regular one. The enclosure has to seal, with vapor-proof waterproofing on the walls and ceiling and a pitched ceiling so condensation slides down the walls instead of dripping. The glass closes the space at or near the ceiling, as in Longmont. The generator needs its own circuit and a nearby spot, such as a vanity, closet or attic, where it can be serviced. All of it is planned before the walls close.
Where you will shower in the meantime
If this is your everyday bathroom, decide early which one the household will use during the work, and tell us at the walkthrough.
What moves the budget and schedule
Steam equipment, its circuit and a sealed enclosure cost more than a standard shower, and moving the toilet or drains adds plumbing work. Custom glass waits until the tile is set, which affects the schedule. Typical costs, and what sets the schedule, are in the questions below.

The City of Longmont Building Services permits page names interior remodels, drywall installation or removal, and any change to electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing systems among the jobs that require a building permit. Reviews from bathroom clients
Each review below is from a client whose primary bath, hall bath or steam shower we worked on. Our reviews aren't tagged by town.
After remodeling our kitchen a few years ago, we knew who to call for our master bath. The new design is clean, modern, and perfectly done - great craftsmanship as always.
Serg and Alex remodeled our kids’ bathroom and the hall bath at the same time. They helped us pick durable finishes and explained where it made sense to spend more money and where it didn’t. Tile work is dead straight, no gaps around fixtures, and they fixed a venting issue from the original builder while they were in the walls. Zero pressure, just honest communication.
We hired Alex to gut our dated master bath and build a new walk-in steam shower. They handled demo, waterproofing, tile, glass, and coordinated the electrician and plumber. The steam unit and controls were installed correctly the first time and they were picky about slopes and drain details. They protected the rest of the house and kept to the schedule they gave us.
Longmont bathroom remodeling questions
Can you build a steam shower like the Longmont one in my bathroom?
Often, yes, if the room allows it. At the walkthrough we check whether glass can seal the shower, how the ceiling can be pitched, where a dedicated circuit can run and where the generator can be serviced. Our Longmont steam shower is one finished example, with two shower stations behind floor-to-ceiling glass.
Does a Longmont bathroom remodel need a building permit?
In most cases, yes. On its permits page, City of Longmont Building Services lists interior remodels and any change to electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing systems as permit work. We take care of the permits and inspections. A home outside city limits may fall under a different office, so include your address.
What does a primary bathroom remodel cost in Longmont?
Every job is different, and we can't promise a number before we see the room. As a guide, our primary bathrooms typically run around $29,000-38,000 all-in, materials included, and hall bathrooms around $13,000. Steam, moving the toilet or drains, and small mosaic tile all raise the price. After the walkthrough, your line-item estimate is free.
How long will a primary suite with a steam shower take?
There is no single typical time for a suite like this one, which combined a steam shower, a soaking tub and a double vanity with closet and bedroom work. The sealed steam enclosure, its waterproofing and the generator circuit are all planned before the walls close, and the floor-to-ceiling glass is made to measure only after the tile is set. Every job is different, so we lay out the expected schedule for your rooms at the walkthrough. For comparison, a hall bathroom typically takes about 2 weeks.
Can you remodel the closet and bedroom along with the bathroom?
Yes. In Longmont the closet shelving, the barn door to the bedroom and the wood slat TV and fireplace wall were part of the same job. Planning the suite as one project lets the finishes match from room to room. Our whole-home remodeling page covers larger plans.
